Heidler & Heeps
Acclaimed contemporary photographers, Richard Heeps and Natasha Heidler have collaborated to make this beautifully mesmerising collection. A celebration of the vinyl record and analogue technology, which reflects the artists practice within photography.
The Heidler & Heeps collaborations are creative representations of Natasha Heidler and Richard Heeps’ personal past, and their personalities. Tapes are significant in both their lives and the work here is made from their own collections. Their unique process makes these pieces not inanimate objects, rather they have depth, texture, grit, and they even appear to move.
Following on from the hugely successful ‘Vinyl Collection,’ Heidler & Heeps have collaborated again, drawing from the childhood past time of stamp collecting. The collection is a documentary of history, dated postmarks connect the images to a time unimaginable and with these artworks you can carry on the British Psyche of ‘collecting’ building your own Heidler & Heeps stamp Collection, with the pieces that speak to you.
Heidler & Heeps have developed their own dichromatic technique resulting in something, which is neither a straightforward photograph, nor photogram. This special darkroom process they have cultivated confounds and intrigues both art lovers and photographers alike. The recognisable Dice motif is an extension of the artist’s personalities, which is apparent in all their work.
